Leap year Monday

(I would like to have better control over the arrangement of photos but I can't seem to figure it out.  They begin with the end of our day.)

Jim invited me to go kayaking on Squaw Lake, a tributary off the Colorado River.  It was a great day to kayak with sunshine and no wind.  Sonny headed to the golf course.  We all met up again for dinner at the Tate's.

Dinner table at Jim and Janet's.
Tasty grilled steaks were on the menu.

After kayaking, I floated in the resort pool and
listened to Southern Knights' music

We drove past the Yuma Proving Grounds

Coots along the canal shore.

Giant rock formation near the shoreline that
looked like a lion.

Jim's kayak

The water was moving in the canals but flat calm in the lakes.

I could paddle up to these caves but didn't
see anyone at home.

This bush was growing right out of a crack in the rock.

Such a great day for a paddle!

Squaw Lake campground.  We put in here and paddled
off to the left for a couple of hours.
