Marines Come to Town

Friday, we did errands, caught a few garage sales and the market. In the evening, we went to the high school football filed see the US Marine's Drum and Bugle Corps and the Silent Drill Team. Every step was precise.

After the performance, the two squads broke to interact
with the audience.  We talked with a trumpet player
from New York and  a  drill team member from Indiana.
We learned band members have no rank on their
sleeves.  It is a tradition from the Civil War when children
were the band members and didn't have rank.

The drill team is silent, not even a drum cadence.  The
counting is all in their heads.  They marched, drilled
 and tossed guns.
